Prayer Focus of the day: Pray for the protection of women and children.
Of the 76 cared for children in the city’s orphanage, Rahman stands out as one of the highly monitored ones. At a young age of 6-7, he’s already shown tendencies of inflicting pain on himself, even in the sensitive parts of the body. His past and unfortunate turn of events may have influenced this problem. Rahman’s father left him and his mom when he was still a baby and has never been heard of ever since. Shortly afterwards, his mother died of cancer leaving him under the care of his grandmother. He was eventually left in the orphanage because his grandmother’s house got burned and now barely gets by to support him. It was there that the Christian workers got to meet him along with many other homeless children, varying in behavioral problems and in need of love and attention. Ministering to them every weekend by teaching English through the chronological Bible stories allows the workers to demonstrate such unconditional love. May the Word sown magnify that despite not having earthly parents, there is a heavenly Father who created them, loves them, and Jesus died and resurrected to rescue them from whatever circumstances they are in.
Please pray:
o For God to draw these children unto Himself.
o Continued patience and wisdom for the workers to minister to the kids as well as to the local staff.
o The seeds sown will train the children the way they should go and when they are old they will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6).
